Love and misc. alcohols.

Poets and movies talk about love when it's great. When you fall in love with someone the 1st or 2nd or 13th time, it's magical and sweet, and no one would deny its all over goodness. However love, I have found is often in the moments when your partner is crying, and you want to cry with them, you want to make them feel better, you want to fix everything wrong in their life no matter the cost to you. I have been married 11 years, and this is one of the most astonishing moments of love.

Now maybe you feel this way towards lots of people. I am probably not as "good", or compassionate a person as you. But I do feel this when ever my wife cries. It makes me happy and sad all at once.

Love.

sometimes...

Wow.

Sangria and Dinosaur bones

And yet still more on a fossilized bone to pick.

Both sides of the Darwinism vs. creationism (intelligent design) use material arguments (evidence) for their conjecture on the how and or who created existence. Because they see this evidence as a defense for thinking/theory/story of how the world works, they argue over fossils and what they mean. How about instead of using the media to drag public debate into a "who thinks right or better" contest in which both sides ruin ancient history and science with their non-sense, both sides just shut up and agree to disagree and leave bananas, and science, and dinosaur bones alone and let them be the amazing things they are without your lousy debate. You don't need the ancient past, or Plank's constant to justify your beliefs, just go believe them and shut up. If any of it was self evident or true we wouldn't need your books and radio interviews, and attempts to change/uphold state laws in order to 'believe' them.

On a side note to Expelled, its producers, fans, and Ben Stein: Science is a tough fucking field. There is evidence for all kinds of very valid theories that disagree/depart with the accepted models of the biology, psychology, physics, etc... and you know what? Those scientists get laughed at, ridiculed, fired, and remain unpublished. They have to deal just like your scientists who study theories of intelligent design. I love physics, but I'm not stupid enough to try form a career in it with my own theories on the nature of the universe. Do I still write those theories down on my own and work on them from time to time? Sure. Do I whine that all of science is out to get me because I believe we are pan-dimensional protrusions into this universe from another when the two universes collided? No.

Welcome to the real world.

Cheers!

Vodka, a splash of gin, lime-ade and profiting on bicker.

Well, though I don't suppose many people check this blog regularly, I've discarded the big red A in support of Atheists. Have I stopped being an atheist? Not in the slightest. As a sort of follow up to the last post, I feel the public argument over Darwinism vs. Creationism has taken a nasty turn.

The thing is I'm working on a new bit of theory. Basically it's that personal even social ontologies don't exist, even the whole field of ontology shouldn't exist. This is contradiction of terms in many ways. In that, Ontology is the study of what exists, and what existence is, and to say Ontology doesn't exist is strange loop/argument indeed.

Anyways, getting back to the argument. Neither "answer" is really satisfactory. And neither answer makes a difference in the present world as knowing what happened 10000+ years ago in the rise of Humankind doesn't change the present "reality" (and I use that word loosely and with caution). And I know many will stop and think, "Hey shakabusatsu, wait a minute, it changes the meaning of dinosaur bones." And I respond, the meaning of dinosaur bones is conjecture, and a fiction, to be played with manipulated, and sold to public no matter if you're an Atheist-Darwinist or a Christian-Creationist, so no there isn't a "real" meaning anymore thanks to the popularity of dinosaur bones. Fossilized creatures of the past are such a commodity now they've be completely consumed by capitalism, as has most of the past and it's artifacts. And here we have two sides bickering (and creating profit by the way), and so my support for the entire argument is now permanently depressed.

Though I am not.

Cheers!

Two margaritas, a kung-fu movie, and several articles on May '68

The loss of the meta-physical.

Is it just me, or is there a noticeable lull in anyone talking about big questions like...
Why are we here?
What is the universe made of.
What are we.

What passes for philosophy these days is a bunch of psychology and sociology theory and discourse. Not that that stuff isn't important. Is philosophy content to sit back and let Darwinism and Organized Religion to battle it out? For shame! Let's use are minds and imagine new ways of thinking ... whatever that means to you. Deconstruction didn't take apart philosophy in order that it never be used again... only so we see questions and answers, are written, and not natural or eternal or axiomatic and so on. So lets dive in sometime, and talk around these fun questions. Please.

Cheers!
